Welcome to the Manchester Music Festival. Now in our 35th year, we bring the passion and beauty of classical music to the mountains of southwestern Vermont.
We emphasize emerging artists -- tomorrow's household names. Our 2009 summer concert season includes performances by the Hyperion String Quartet, pianist Adam Neiman, young soloists from the Metropolitan Opera, and a finalist in the 2009 Van Cliburn competition.
Our Young Artist program provides training and performance experience to conservatory musicians from across the country and around the globe. Our outreach program brings live classical music performance to schools throughout the area. We offer instrmental music lessons to students of all ages.
We welcome your interest and support.

Excuse me ... what's a "parrothead"?
Follow-up question: can lovers of classical music relax and have fun?
|
|
Parrotheads are fans of Jimmy Buffett, whose songs of indolence, irresponsibility and hanging out have been popular for decades. Whether classical music lovers can relax and have fun will be discovered on Tuesday, July 14. Please join us then for a casual evening at Hildene, with dancing to 'Changes in Latitudes' (the Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band).
There will be a buffet supper, wine and beer, all for $60 per person. Plus live & silent auctions. Wear your "island" attire. For tickets, call 362-1956.
